Meet the team

James Dougan

James Dougan

James Dougan is the founder and Director of Central Development Coaching. He is in his final year at Stirling University, where he studies sport and business.

James is a passionate coach who works with junior and senior athletes to develop their squash skills and overall well-being with the assisted knowledge in Sport and Remedial massage. He has a strong desire to help others reach and surpass their goals.

Oliver Hunter

Oliver Hunter

Oliver has been playing squash at BOASC since he was 6 years old. He has represented Scotland as a junior on a number of occasions at European and World Championships, most recently held in Melbourne.

In 2024, to further Oliver’s squash career he has have decided to attend college in America. Oliver has a passion for coaching and is looking forward to passing on what he has learnt over the years.

Kyle Penman

Kyle Penman

Kyle is a Scottish Squash level 1 coach who has been playing squash for 11 years.

He has achieved many accolades in his career, including being a 6-time Scottish Junior National Champion, placing 3rd in the British Junior Champs, and a Welsh and Irish Junior Open Champion. Kyle has also earned 6 Scotland Caps. He started his squash career at Bridge of Allan Sports Club.

Callum Draper

Callum Draper

Callum is a level 1 qualified coach and plays squash to an advanced level in the Central region. Callum plays regular league matches in Crieff and District and East Leagues.

In 2023 he became the Scottish Central Closed Junior Champ and continues to develop his squash by playing tournaments throughout the season. Callum enjoys coaching and values the opportunity to pass on knowledge for others to utilise on court.

Jane Martin

Jane Martin

Jane is an ex professional player who reached a career high of World number Eight back in the 1990s. Jane represented England in the Commonwealth games, World cups & world team championships.

Jane retired from professional squash aged 30 and since then has been coaching for 21 years. Jane’s aim is to develop squash at grassroots level, introduce a new sport/skill but ultimately have fun!!

Sophie Thomas

Sophie Thomas

Sophie has been playing squash since she was 12 years old at Belfast Boat Club.She has represented Ireland every year since she first started.

Her team came 2nd in the European U15 Team Championships and most recently went to the U19 World Championships in Melbourne. Sophie now attends the University of Stirling to study Accountancy and is playing at BOASC. Sophie is excited to help with coaching and is hoping to give the younger girls a female role model within the sport.
